3 Ayurvedic Tips that Benefit Your Heart

Search Icon

The heart is the centre of emotion, so the state of our emotional health has a strong effect on our heart health. By meditating, etc you can help both your emotional and heart health.

Highlights

  • The heart and our emotional health have a deep connection.

  • Certain practices, like drinking gold water, help balance our emotions and keep our heart healthy.

Our whole body is affected when we face emotional problems like stress, anxiety, sadness, anger or trauma, but none bears the brunt of these negative emotions as much as our heart. Ayurveda believes that there’s a connection between emotional balance and heart health, and advises you to take measures to protect it against such emotional stresses.

Daily Meditation

Meditation helps us strengthen the connection between our body and mind, making us more mindful of our reactions and responses to stressors. When we are able to control how stress affects us, we are able to clear the channels of our mind and stimulate the flow of prana (life force) through our brain and body, balancing all three doshas and supporting the production of ojas (immunity). A daily meditation session of 20 minutes can regulate stress and make our heart stronger!

Gold Infused Water

The properties of gold make it ideal for strengthening and healing the heart. Now, you may be wondering how you could possibly consume gold, but it’s actually really simple. Take two cups of water and place a piece of jewellery made from gold (preferably, 24 karats) in it. Then bring the water to a boil, remove the gold item, and store the water in a container. Have 1 teaspoon of this water 2-3 times a day.

Rudraksha Seeds

These seeds have been long used to open up the heart chakra (Anahata). Simply wear it as a necklace over the heart or soak in a glass of water overnight and drink the water the next day.
