4 Ayurvedic Ways To Curb Winter Weight Gain

When the weather gets cold and chilly, the last thing you want to do is go out for a morning run or an early workout. Hey! No judgments, we get it! Leaving your warm snuggly bed is hard. Well, lucky you because we are listing out five easy ways to curb winter weight gain by using the age-old science of Ayurveda.

  • Mealtime basics – No snacking between meals, three meals a day are enough for our body. In fact, if the body is fed every 3 to 4 hours, the stored fat won’t get burned. Whereas, if you consume three meals a day, the body has ample time to burn the fat. Therefore, make each meal count.

  • Ayurvedic weight balancing foods – Triphala, the mix of three magical herbs, amalaki, bibhitaki, and haritaki is an ancient detox used as an intestinal scrub to clean the villi and aid better elimination, healthier digestion, and weight loss.

  • Flushing fall roots – Instead of reaching for oil soaked, calorie-rich foods, have foods which detox and aid weight-loss. Foods like ginger, turmeric, licorice / mulethi make for great liver tonics, reset digestion and support healthy weight loss. You can also have ginger tea for to warm up the body.

  • Vitamin D and weight loss - Optimal levels of vitamin D have been known to aid healthy weight loss. But instead of resorting to synthetic forms of Vitamin D, go out to soak up the Sun. Besides, the synthetic pills aren't as effective as the natural vitamin D.

Overall, make sure that you eat at a proper time and eat healthy, avoid overeating, stay hydrated and get enough sleep at night. So no more staying past the bedtime!
