4 Ways To Lead A Spiritual Life & Connect with the Divine

Search Icon

Ayurveda describes spirituality as acceptance and recognition of God and channelling restorative energy from the source. But how do we practice spirituality every day? Even those who are fully committed to the path of spirituality can feel split in two sometimes.

It’s understandable because the contemplative, ascetic side of our nature seeks meditation, silence and oneness with God. However, the other side of us is out there in the world earning a living, being a consumer, friend and partner.

Wondering if there is a way to merge these two aspects that seem so different? Well, according to Ayurveda there is.

Here are ways to practice spirituality in everyday life:

  • Accept and recognize that God exists. Once you accept the presence of God, have faith that he will lead you to the path of enlightenment.

  • Have faith in the wisdom of God and be satisfied with what Brahman God provides. Trust that God knows best.

  • Be humble. Seek God’s help instead of demanding it. God is not bound to help you. He will only help if he deems you worthy of his blessings.

  • While meditation helps establish a connection to the higher power, reading religious texts like the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, Quran or Bible help preach the rules of victorious living.

Enlightenment doesn’t necessarily happen in an ashram or a cave. If you choose to follow the steps mentioned above, you can attain enlightenment every minute of every day. So, instead of leaving your spirituality behind with your meditation pillow, try incorporating these five principles into your life and witness the change!
