In the meanwhile, pay attention to the food that you eat throughout the day. Here’s the routine that is recommended by Ayurveda.
-
Begin your day with a glass of warm water with lemon juice and honey.
-
Breakfast should be before 8 am. Kapha balancing food that is light and airy gives relief from PCOS. A breakfast that is built around a tremendous abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, preferably steamed or boiled, is a great start. Go for green tea, Ayurvedic tea or lukewarm milk instead of normal tea and coffee.
-
Have Kapha balancing snacks at 11 am. A glass of buttermilk (chanch) with a teaspoon of ginger juice works best. You can also have an apple or a bowl of ripe papaya cubes.
-
Your Lunch shouldn’t be before 2 pm and it shouldn’t be too heavy either. You can have a small portion of rice with dal and vegetables, but take care that the dishes aren’t too spicy. Also, include steamed vegetables in the form of salads in your lunch.
-
Eat Vata pacifying snacks around 5:30 pm. Your evening snacks can include a cup of herbal tea and a handful of nuts and healthy seeds.
-
Dinner shouldn’t be later than 8 pm. It should also be the lightest meal of the day. Avoid eating anything spicy, oily or rich for dinner. Freshly cooked, daals and light soups will nourish you and make you feel light in the morning.
In addition to these dietary recommendations, reduce sugar intake and exercise mildly every day.
