Ayurvedic Tips for Ageless, Beautiful Skin

Search Icon

Don’t just hide signs of ageing, instead follow Ayurveda for beautiful skin and keep people guessing your age. Try these simple beauty tips for supple skin.

Don’t skip the veggies:

Eating vegetables with high water content, like lettuce, carrot, cucumber, and radish, is beneficial as they are easier to digest and have purifying properties. Moreover, these veggies are tridoshic, which means that they’re good for all types of skin. Combine at least 3 of these vegetables with an olive oil-lemon juice dressing for a quick and nutritious salad.

Eat plenty of seeds and nuts:

Both traditional and Ayurvedic medicine agree that adding seeds and nuts to your diet will improve the condition of your skin. Since Vata is drying by nature, nuts and seeds are perfect foods to replenish moisture, since they contain omega-3, which are healthy fats and fibers. You can eat flax seeds, sunflower seeds, and other nuts to restore that glow to your skin.

Drink Ayurvedic tea:

Staying hydrated throughout the day and giving preference to warm liquids like herbal teas will make your skin look younger for a longer time. Making some spicy tea with fresh ginger and lemon will help keep your digestion healthy and your skin youthful.

Moisturize naturally:

Although staying hydrated on the inside is important, you should not forget about taking care of your skin from the outside. Cleansing and moisturizing are the most crucial steps to keep your skin healthy and young. Apricot oil applied 2-3 times a week at night will help make your skin healthy and smooth.

Exercise regularly:

Apart from keeping your muscles and joints healthy and toned, exercise can help you sweat out toxins and also improve blood circulation and digestion. Whether it is walking, jogging, dancing, or yoga, choose the right type of exercise that makes you feel good and gives you energy without exhausting you.

Meditate:

High level of emotional and mental stress is one of the major reasons for Vata aggravation. Meditation and breathing exercises can be very effective in releasing stress. Regular meditation also helps eliminate toxins from the body, giving you fresh, clean skin in time.

They say beauty is skin deep, but real beauty goes beyond the skin and come from harmony between the mind, body, and soul. Ayurveda can help you achieve that, and give you beauty that will be unmarred by time and age.
