Herb It Up For A Healthy Heart

The heart is the most important organ of our body; it is viewed as the centre of prana by Ayurveda and a place where the three doshas and our ojas (immunity) dwell. For this reason, a strong heart ensures that our body functions correctly and we stay robust and well. Here are some herbs that Ayurveda ensures to keep our heart health flourishing.

Highlights:

  • The heart is our centre of energy and where the doshas and ojas dwell.

  • With certain herbs, you can keep it healthy.

The heart our most important organ. To keep it healthy, you can use herbs prescribed by Ayurveda. The most effective ones are Arjuna, Ginger, Turmeric, and Pushkarmool etc.

Arjuna

This wonder herb is the go-to for good heart health as it strengthens the circulatory system and ensures that the muscle heart is toned and functioning optimally. It balances both the cholesterol and blood pressure, and it’s believed that Arjuna can help strengthen your willpower.

Have half a teaspoon of Arjuna powder mixed with honey and warm water 1-3 times a day or you can try Jiva’s Arjuna Tablets.

Adrak (Ginger)

Ginger fires the Agni (digestive juices), eliminating ama (toxins) from the body. Once this ama is removed, the hearts functioning gets more efficient because the shrotas (channels) are clear of any blockages.

Add the ginger to your cooking or your morning cup of herbal tea.

Pushkarmool

This powerful herb helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol naturally. The thing that truly makes it a tonic for the heart are its anti-anginal and anti-ischemic qualities.

Take the Pushkarmool powder once a day by mixing a ½ teaspoon in a glass of water.

Haldi (Turmeric)

This golden tri-doshic spice purifies the blood and kindles the agni just like ginger does.

Add it to your food or prepare golden milk by adding a spoon to hot milk.

However, for long-term maintenance of the condition or to be free of it completely, you should consult a Jiva doctor. You can dial 0129-4040404 from your mobile phone or click on ‘Speak to a Doctor’ under the CONNECT tab in the Jiva Health App.
