How to create a mind map:
-
Start by giving a blank piece of paper to your child.
-
Ask him/her to write the keyword or the main topic in the centre of the page
-
He should then identify the connecting points or the sub points.
-
Draw branches radiating outward from the main topic and put the sub points at the end of the branches.
-
You can even create smaller branches for each of the sub points for further sub-division.
Mind maps can be used as effective revision tool. It can also be used to explain a concept clearly. Encourage your child to enjoy mind mapping by using coloured sketch pens and by creating interesting designs to make the idea more visibly appealing.
