Balance your doshas and maintain a sattvic diet with this Ayurvedic burger.
With ingredients like carrots, black beans, cardamom, cinnamon, etc. this is the healthiest burger in the world.
Who doesn’t love a good, hearty burger? But, the unhealthy fried patty and overloaded cheese can be a turn off for most. But, this Ayurvedic burger is as healthy as it gets. Here are some of the benefits of the ingredients that go into making this burger
Carrots balance both the vata and kapha.
Black beans help control high BP, reduces the risk of heart disease, helps in weight loss, etc.
Rice is sattvic in nature and balances all three doshas.
1 cup carrot (grated and steamed)
1 cup kaala chana (black beans), boiled and mashed
1 cup boiled rice
¼ cup almonds (soaked overnight and then ground into a powdery paste)
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp kaali mirch (pepper)
1/8 tsp dalchini (cinnamon)
¼ tsp ground jeera (cumin)
Ghee as needed
Blend all the ingredients in a blender till they form a thick mixture. Ensure that you don’t blend it to the point where it starts becoming thin and runny, as it should resemble a dough.
Shape the mixture into patties.
Put the ghee in a frying pan and roast the patties for around 15 minutes. (approx 7 minutes on each side)
Serve them on a bun, a pita pocket, or between a couple lettuce leaves, and enjoy!
This recipe is great for parties or for a quick meal at home!
