Papaya leaves paste is another interesting home remedies for jaundice as the leaves contain an enzyme ‘papain’ that supports digestion and liver health. You can make the paste by grinding the leaves and consume it mixed with honey, two times a day.
Having barley (jau) water is a highly effective remedy for jaundice. You might have heard about this. All you need to do is boiling 1 tbsp. of barley in half litres of water till the quantity is reduced to half. Let it cool down, strain it and drink this water as frequently as possible throughout the day for quick recovery.
You may also use basil (tulsi) leaves for treating jaundice. For this home remedy for jaundice, make a paste of 10-15 basil leaves by grinding them. Add half a glass of freshly prepared muli juice to the paste and drink this mixture daily to fasten the healing process.
Aloe vera juice or fresh pulp can also be used as a remedy for jaundice. If it is not possible for you to get fresh aloe vera pulp, you may use Jiva Aloe Vera Juice and mix a little black salt (kaala namak) and ginger (adrak) to it and drink this mixture in the morning for about ten days.
Other useful home remedies for jaundice are bitter gourd (karela) and drumsticks (saijan ki phalli). You may drink freshly prepared karela juice or Jiva Karela Jamun Juice or eat karela and drumsticks as vegetable.
Consuming crushed, riped bananas mixed with honey is also effective in the management of jaundice. One can have it twice a day.
Indian gooseberry (amla) can also be used as an effective home remedy for jaundice. You can have a teaspoon of Jiva Amla Juice or boil amlas in a pan, mix the pulp with water, add honey to it and drink 2-3 times a day.
Pigeon pea (arhar) leaves can also be used to treat jaundice. They can be crushed to extract the juice out of them. One can consume around 60 ml of this juice daily. Besides, jaundice patients can also consume toor dal in the diet as they are very nutritive and easy to digest.
