Pinda Shuddhi - Purification of the Beeja:
Pinda shuddhi, or the purification of the beeja (sperm and ovum), was integral to supraja janan. It was kick started using panchkarma therapies and yoga. But this isn’t about physical fitness alone. The couple had to be in a stable state of mind to bring a healthy child into this world.
How to do that:
This mental calmness is known as Sathwa Guna and is closely related to the eating habits, exercise, breathing, and meditation. A Satvik diet is also recommended for both the parents to restore dosha balance and ensures positive Prana energy.
Garbha Poorva Sanskar - A Positive Environment for the Foetus:
Ayurveda believes that the foetus is capable of receiving, understanding and responding to love and affection. Therefore, it should have positive environment to grow in.
How to do that:
One part of supraja janan also deals with garbha poorva sanskar that encourages parents to communicate with the baby in the womb. Mothers are told to listen to music, inculcate positive thoughts, stay away from stress and negativity, focus on the divine, and read the holy scriptures during the term of her pregnancy.
