A toothache can be triggered by heat, cold, sweet food, rough brushing etc. The most common causes of toothache are tooth decay, infection, cracked tooth, gum diseases, infected dental pulp, and the like. Various home remedies can be highly beneficial in dealing with a toothache.
Clove oil:Apply clove oil or nutmeg oil to the affected area to relieve the pain.
Mustard oil:Mix mustard oil with haldi and apply to affected area for treatment of tooth pain and infection.
Black pepper:Combine a pinch of black pepper powder with some clove, and apply to the affected area. This is one of the tried and tested home remedies which are highly effective in relieving pain. Alternately, you can use pepper powder mixed with a quarter teaspoon of salt and apply it on the affected area.
Peppermint:Boil 5 gm peppermint with a pinch of salt in a cup of water. Drink to reduce a toothache naturally. Dried leaves of peppermint can also be placed for 15 minutes on the affected area to ease a toothache.
Asafoetida:Grind asafoetida with lemon juice and heat it. Soak some cotton in this mixture and place it on the aching area for quick relief.
Ice pack:Apply an ice pack to the affected area. This is one of the most popular and effective ways to treat a toothache.
