Anything in excess is detrimental. Weight or rather body mass is one of those topics. Blame it on the media and how skinny thin people are portrayed in glamorous lead roles, an average person connects success and glamour with being thin. In the same way, obese people are often portrayed in comical roles which sets a negative impression on viewers. Ayurvedic Perspective On Weight Loss:

Ayurveda focuses on the importance of maintaining a healthy weight. Excessively thin or excessively heavy physique isn’t considered ideal in Ayurveda. Being skinny can lead to other health related issues and even be a cause of death.

According to Ayurveda, the digestive fire (Jatharaagni) has to be maintained for overall health. For the lack of eating timely, the digestive fire becomes weak and affects the formation of necessary elements in the body such as blood (Rakta), muscle fibres (Mans), bones (Aasthi), marrow (Majja) and sperms (Shukradhatu). This also affects the production of other necessary nutrients and metals in the body. This imbalance is caused by both eating very less or overeating.

Effect on Sexual Health:

To maintain sexual health one has to consume a proper nourishing diet and stay physically active as well. Ayurvedic scriptures say that for the formation of sperm and ovum, one has to be healthy in every aspect. For the lack of a nourishing diet, energy levels drop and effects sexual pleasure and performance. This can also lead to muscular strains, tiredness and poor performance in bed.
