Epsom Salt Soak

Epsom salt contains magnesium sulfate, which eases muscle stiffness and inflammation. Mix 2 cups of Epsom salt in warm water and soak your knees for 20 minutes. This treatment is particularly helpful after a long day of standing or walking.

Hot and Cold Compresses

Alternate hot and cold compresses can help in easing pain and swelling. Use a warm compress for 15 min to loosen stiff joints. Follow with a cold compress for another 15 minutes to lessen inflammation. Do this 2-3 times a day.

Mustard Oil Massage

Mustard oil massage increases blood circulation and decreases knee stiffness.
Heat 2 tablespoons of mustard oil with 3 crushed garlic cloves. Allow this mix to cool down a bit and then rub it onto the knee in circular strokes. Repeat twice daily.

Fenugreek Seed Paste

Fenugreek seeds have anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Soak 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds overnight. Grind them into a paste and apply on the knee. Leave it on for 30 minutes. Later, rinse it with warm water.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

ACV aids in detoxifying around the knee joint and improves lubrication.
Combine 2 tbsp of ACV with 1 cup warm water. 3 Daily preventive consumption to minimize inflammation of joints. You can also dissolve ACV in water and rub into the knee.

Cayenne Pepper Ointment

Cayenne pepper works by desensitising nerve endings to provide natural pain relief, thanks to its active chemical compound which is capsaicin. Mix 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Rub the knee with the blend and let it sit for 20 minutes then wash it away.

Aloe Vera Gel Application

Aloe vera possesses cooling and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce inflammation. Extract fresh aloe vera gel and rub it gently onto the knee. Leave it on for about 20 minutes before washing off.

Onion Juice Massage

Sulfur compounds in onion juice reduce inflammation and swelling. Blend an onion to squeeze out its juice. Heat the juice and massage it lightly onto the knee.

Stay Hydrated
