Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy prostate, you should pay heed to the following Ayurvedic tips:
Practice Vajroli mudra:
This gentle mudra cleanses, tones, and supports blood circulation to the reproductive organs. Start by sitting in an upright posture. Draw the urethra upward (as if you are holding back the urge to urinate). Bending forward can help you isolate the right muscles. Begin with three contractions and slowly increase up to ten. You may practice this mudra twice a day.
Massage with castor oil:
Oiling is highly-beneficial to ignite Agni of prostate tissues. Coat your finger with castor oil and gently massage your perineum (the area between anus and testicles) in small circular motions. Do this every day or as advised by your Jiva doctor.
Drink plenty of fluids and eat healthy:
Good hydration and proper diet are key to maintaining the fluidity of the glandular secretions. Urinating at least 4-5 times a day keeps the prostate channel clean. Drink 2-3 litre of water daily and incorporate herbal tea and juicy fruits in your diet for a clean and healthy digestive tract.
Do not suppress natural urges:
The proper flow of Apana Vata depends on an uninhibited down and out flow. When nature calls, answer it. Don’t delay urinating or hold on to it for too long. The same principle holds true for physical activity also. Enjoy sex when your body wants it. Ejaculation directly stimulates the prostate muscles and releases its flow. However, excess of anything is bad. Excessive sex can lead to depletion of Ojas, which brings with it another set of problems, and you should always be mindful of maintaining a balance.
And finally, stay stress-free. Tensions and worries can disturb your body’s immune system and aggravate the Apana Vata. So laugh a lot and don’t let the cares of the world bring you down.
