Lifestyle Changes For a Smooth, Problem-Free Transition Into Menopause

Menopause is a natural process and a part of every woman's life. It occurs due to hormonal changes in the body during the late 40’s, early 50’s and 60’s. In some cases, the transition to menopause is very easy with no problems whatsoever. In other cases, women face a number of difficulties, making this period an increasingly stressful one for them.

So, what can women do to make the transition into menopause easier for themselves?

Ayurveda recommends the following lifestyle changes:

  • Regular exercise in the form of yoga, brisk walking, swimming, running, and cycling is recommended.

  • Fresh air eases out anxiety and depression; so go for regular morning and evening walks in an open space, like a garden or a sports stadium.

  • Fasting twice a month, having only lemon water and a fruit diet will help flush out the toxins from the body.

  • Try to maintain a relaxed and positive attitude. Indulge in a hobby of your choice.

  • Meditation will relieve stress and remove negative energy.

  • Regular massage with sesame (til) oil, especially on the scalp and feet, can rejuvenate women and nourish their skin and hair.

  • Also, it’s important to maintain regular sleeping habits.
