Grate fresh ginger until you have about ¼ of a teaspoon. Add this to half a litre of milk. Add ½ teaspoon turmeric powder to the milk and bring the milk to a boil. Take this milk twice or thrice a day for relief in congestion and difficulty in breathing.

Amla (Indian gooseberry) is a rich source of Vitamin C and anti-oxidants and has a curative effect on allergies. Take ½ spoon of dried amla powder, mix it with 1 spoon of honey and swallow it. Taking this twice a day will enhance your immunity and help in allergic rhinitis.

Prepare an herbal tea with ½ teaspoon Mulethi (liquorice), 8-10 basil leaves, ¼ black pepper powder & 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger in 2 cups water. Boil the solution until the water reduces to half and drink it twice or thrice. Add honey for taste.
